The dreaded Boko Haram sect reportedly paid N5,000 to parents in Mubi in exchange for their daughters.

The parents had no choice as they were forced to collect the money and surrender their daughters.

According to Nigerian Tribune report, this was disclosed by a family man who fled the town, in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Hausa.

A woman, who also fled from Mubi to Kano, said some air planes were shot down during the encounter. She explained that as they saw soldiers who were either dead or injured on the bush paths they took as escape routes.
