Unknown gunmen unleashed terror in Agwan Mamman community in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, killing three while a police officer inspector has been declared missing.

The gunmen were said to have attacked the community in the early hours of the morning, Premium Times reports.

The police inspector who is attached to Keana Local Government divisional police station and the victims were traveling in a commercial bus to Keana when they were ambushed by the gunmen.

Two of the victims were burnt beyond recognition while the third victim named Mahamadu Ozawose, who sustained bullet wound died in Obi hospital while receiving treatment.

According to the Nasarawa State Police spokesperson, Ismaila Numan, who confirmed the incident, investigation into the incident had begun.

“A police officer who is among those traveling is still missing as we are yet to establish contact with him. We have dispatched our men to the bush to search for him,” he said.

It would be recalled that in September, about 20 people were killed and over 70 houses were burnt by gunmen suspected to be Fulani attackers in Arikya and Anshangwa villages in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
